William Brothers
Post-Doctoral Fellow
Cellular and Molecular Medicine
Summary
Will received his B.Sc. in Biology from the University of British Columbia while also working as a laboratory technician at the BC Cancer Research Centre under the supervision of Dr. Marco Marra. He then went on to do his Ph.D. at McGill University in Dr. Marc Fabian’s lab, focusing on how cytoplasmic ribonucleoprotein granules regulate mRNA decay pathways. Will’s research interests centre around understanding whether RNA granules are functionally and therapeutically relevant targets in the contexts of human neurobiology and neurodegenerative disease.
In a former life, Will represented Canada at the World Championships in swimming and he is still very passionate about sports and human performance. So outside of the lab you can probably find him training for triathlons either in the pool, on his bike, or running.
