Louie Zhao
Undergraduate Student (Esau Estrada)
Biochemistry and Bioinformatics
Summary
Louie is a sophomore majoring in Bioengineering at the University of California San Diego. He became passionate about the combination of molecular/cellular biology and biomaterials science to restore function to diseased or injured tissues from personal research in his spare time. He hopes to pursue his education in Bioengineering at a graduate level to provide a new exploratory avenue for tissue development . As of now, Louie is under the supervision of Josh S. and Esau E., and assisting on a chimeric project to determine global miRNA-mRNA complexes that can later be used for RNA therapeutics in diseased tissues. When Louie is not in the lab you can find him playing basketball, playing video games, and leisurely forming Lego sets.
