Bioinformatics and Systems Biology
Summary
Avery is a former wet-lab immunologist currently working on understanding differential social network architectures of immune cells in disease models, using single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics. Avery is specifically interested in understanding the determinants of intratumoral T-cell infiltration and spatial statistics that can best characterize that migration. Additionally, Avery hopes to clarify the role of new classes of RNA-based ligand-receptor pairs that could contribute to keystone cell-cell interactions in the tumor microenvironment, with a particular eye on druggable vulnerabilities along those communication axes.
